Jardin Alpin is one of the most exclusive slopeside enclaves in Courchevel 1850, positioned high above the village with immediate access to the ski area.
Staying here feels different from staying directly in the center of Courchevel 1850. The priority is slope access, mountain views and a quieter retreat rather than walking out the door directly into the main concentration of boutiques and restaurants.
For ski-focused trips, I love the location. If your primary interest in Courchevel is shopping and going out every night, I would weigh the location more carefully.
Is Rosewood Courchevel good for families?
Très.
The hotel has interconnected Family Rooms, junior suites that can sleep families of four, a dedicated children's space, family-focused spa facilities and larger multi-bedroom accommodations.
More importantly, the ski logistics are extremely easy. There is direct slope access, a full-service ski shop and ski butlers who help manage equipment.
The less time a family spends carrying four pairs of skis through a hotel lobby, the more civilized everyone remains.
What are the best rooms at Rosewood Courchevel for families?
For a family of four, I would look closely at the Family Room and Family Room Slopes, which combine connecting rooms and give everyone proper beds and separate sleeping space.
The Deluxe Junior Suite and Premier Junior Suite can also accommodate up to four guests and are useful for families who prefer to stay together in one larger space.
For a longer stay or multigenerational trip, the signature Houses and Jardin Alpin Apartment become much more interesting.
I would choose based on family configuration before automatically upgrading for view alone. On a ski trip, doors that close are a luxury category of their own.
What are the Rosewood Courchevel Houses?
Rosewood Courchevel has several very large residential-style accommodations designed to give you the privacy of a chalet with the services of the hotel.
Courchevel House and Saulire House each have two bedrooms, large living areas and multiple terraces.
The four-bedroom Jardin Alpin Apartment is the largest option, with a private elevator entrance, eight terraces, a cinema room, professional kitchen and indoor and outdoor dining space.
For a multigenerational family or two families traveling together, I would compare these with renting a private chalet before automatically booking several separate hotel rooms.
Is Rosewood Courchevel or Aman Le Mélézin better?
They are both ski-in/ski-out hotels in Courchevel 1850, but the personalities are quite different.
I would choose Rosewood if you want a newer hotel, a little more social energy, excellent family configurations, larger residential options and a more contemporary interpretation of Alpine glamour.
I would choose Aman Le Mélézin if you want something quieter, more restrained and distinctly Aman. It is the hotel for travelers who want Courchevel without necessarily participating in all of Courchevel.
For families and groups, Rosewood's room configurations give it an advantage. For a couple seeking serenity, Aman can be extremely compelling.
What does the ski butler at Rosewood Courchevel do?
Rosewood has dedicated ski butlers and a full-service ski shop built into the hotel.
The idea is to remove as much of the equipment wrangling as possible. Your skis and boots can be prepared for the day, equipment can be organized and the ski concierge can help coordinate the broader logistics around skiing.
This sounds like a small luxury until you have attempted to organize gloves, helmets, goggles, boots, poles and four people before 9:00 AM.
Then it sounds like infrastructure.
Do you need to rent skis in Courchevel village?
No. Rosewood Courchevel has its own full-service ski shop and rental facilities, so equipment can be handled directly at the hotel.
I would arrange rentals and ski-school details before arrival, particularly during Christmas, New Year's, Presidents' Week and European school holidays.
The expensive part of a Courchevel ski trip should be Courchevel. It should not be discovering at 8:45 AM that nobody has the right size boot.
Does Rosewood Courchevel have a pool?
Oui.
Asaya Spa has a 17-meter indoor swimming pool, along with a hot tub, cold plunge, saunas, steam rooms and an experience shower.
There is also a dedicated children's cavern with an interactive water feature, which makes the wellness area considerably more useful for families than a beautiful pool everyone under 16 is forbidden to approach.
Do the rooms at Rosewood Courchevel have steam showers?
Yes. All accommodations at Rosewood Courchevel feature steam showers.
This may not be the reason you choose a ski hotel, but it becomes a remarkably persuasive feature around 4:30 PM after several hours on the mountain.
Can you use Asaya Spa at Rosewood Courchevel without staying at the hotel?
Yes, for treatments.
Asaya currently welcomes non-hotel guests for pre-booked treatments during designated daytime hours, subject to availability.
If you are staying elsewhere in Courchevel and want to experience Rosewood, a spa treatment followed by lunch or a drink at SALTO is one way to do it.
What restaurants are at Rosewood Courchevel?
The main dining concept is SALTO, which draws heavily from the cooking of the Northern Italian and French Alps.
Lunch is relaxed and mountain-oriented, with dishes like fondue and other Alpine classics, while dinner becomes more polished. SALTO Lounge is the livelier option for après-ski, cocktails and evenings around the fireplace, including DJ programming.
I would absolutely eat here during a stay, but I would not eat every meal in the hotel. Courchevel has one of the most ambitious dining scenes of any ski resort in Europe, and part of the fun is using it.
Is Rosewood Courchevel good for non-skiers?
Yes, provided you actually like being in a ski resort.
Asaya is substantial enough to occupy real time, and Courchevel 1850 has excellent restaurants, shopping and plenty of ways to enjoy the mountains without skiing all day.
The hotel also works well when one person skis seriously and another would prefer to ski for two hours, have a long lunch and then become unavailable due to a spa appointment.
That is, in my opinion, a perfectly legitimate Alpine sport.
Is Rosewood Courchevel good for a multigenerational ski trip?
Très.
This may actually be one of its strongest uses.
You can combine ski-in/ski-out access and children's facilities with two-bedroom Houses or the four-bedroom Jardin Alpin Apartment, while grandparents, parents and children can participate in the day at completely different speeds.
Everyone can ski together in the morning.
Everyone does not have to remain together until bedtime.
This is how multigenerational travel survives to become an annual tradition.
How far is Rosewood Courchevel from Geneva Airport?
Geneva Airport is approximately 180 kilometers from Rosewood Courchevel.
Chambéry Airport is closer at approximately 110 kilometers, while Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains railway station is around 24 kilometers from the hotel.
Private chauffeured transfers can be arranged, and helicopter transfers into Courchevel are also possible.
For most international travelers, I would treat the airport transfer as part of the itinerary rather than improvising it after booking flights.
Do you need a car at Rosewood Courchevel?
No.
Once you arrive, you have direct access to the slopes and the hotel can arrange chauffeured transportation when you want to move around Courchevel.
I would much rather have the transfer and local transportation organized than rent a car that spends the week parked in the snow.
When did Rosewood Courchevel open?
Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin officially opened on December 19, 2025 for the 2025–2026 ski season.
It is Rosewood's first winter resort and its first property in the French Alps.
That newness is part of the appeal. Courchevel has no shortage of legendary hotels. Rosewood is the interesting new arrival trying to earn a place among them.
How many rooms does Rosewood Courchevel have?
Rosewood Courchevel has just 51 rooms, suites and signature accommodations.
That relatively small size is important because Courchevel luxury can occasionally become quite theatrical. Rosewood feels more like an Alpine house than a sprawling resort, while still having a serious spa, restaurant, ski infrastructure and family facilities.
How many nights should you stay at Rosewood Courchevel?
For a proper ski vacation, I would stay five to seven nights.
Three or four nights can work as part of a longer European winter trip, particularly for experienced skiers who can arrive and immediately get on the mountain.
With children, I prefer a longer stay. Between travel, ski school, weather and the occasional day when someone abruptly decides skiing is no longer their calling, a full week gives the trip room to breathe.
